This product deals with electronic signatures, not digital signatures, which are something else entirely.
A digital signature is cryptographically secure and verifies that someone with your private signing key (in other words, you) has seen the document and authorised it. It’s very secure, but also complicated. Most companies wouldn't know what to do with this kind of information even if they had it. This can be costly and harder to manage. An electronic signature, on the other hand, is merely an image of a signature on top of a PDF document. This is equivalent of sending a document for signature to the clients address. This document is then secured so changes cannot be made it is easy to spot. For many businesses, simply accepting signed documents by email rather than posting them is a technological leap. It's cheaper, quicker and safer than general mail. To ensure your peace of mind, we use 256 bit encryption whilst handling your data to ensure it is secure in transmission, we also 'lock' the PDF as soon as its been signed to prevent any tampering. We can use dual authentication if you so wish. |
We also capture technical information about the device used for signing such as IP address etc. A verified copy is delivered to you and (by your choice) to your client as well. A third copy can go into a digital escrow in case of challenge. You also get the data as an Excel sheet or CSV file
